Large-scale Russian Assaults Eliminate Power Throughout Kyiv

Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have led to power cuts in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in the city's east were left without electricity and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has increased assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 projectiles attacked the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck energy infrastructure and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the city came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A young boy was killed and three other people were injured.

The attacks follow nights of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and officials were preparing for more assaults.
